![]() ![]() ![]() However, I am stuck constantly having to repeat the install and I do not understand why or what to do about it. I have done literally nothing different for this game vs. I've had steam for over 10 years and have never encountered this particular issue.Īgain, I have the install folder set to the exact same drive/folder as all of my other steam games. I have countless hours played on various steam games. I know once you've downloaded it, the steam client has to unpack/install it or whatever. I did not intentionally install it there, but for some reason it appears to be stuck there. However, it's in the "downloading" sub-folder of my steam folder. Originally posted by Doodlez:Okay maybe I didn't explain well enough. Then, what was the point of the preload When the game is not yet available, Steam allows you to preload an encrypted version of the game that is inaccessible until the release date. ![]() This just dont explan ofc all the other issue with it, defect cable and transportaion damage that can happend, ( this is why things get flagged as usb change drop and wht steam dont like that solution. I downloaded the preload now it’s saying it’s going to take 2 hours to unpack the game. ) and i told this before steam brake old pc core rules, there has always been remote media and so do Microsoft, its simple just how fast they are, this is just seen as dont try run things from a floppy disk, and we all get that part, and now there is usb 3 and 3+ depend on pc, then this is a joke and steam and MS is lost in outer space and lost the war. ( things has change, steam still require things be there then doing startup check.( do note steam dont recommend such ways, and yet many have done it for years. This also is part of disk steam storage mangement and the ways it work now. I think, i or other suggest a external Solution with steam lib so you technicaly can move all steam lib and add its content with multi disk again and same time update it at other location. Hope this helps you guys.Seen From past steam poster from same place they use the function steam backup Solutions, then restore it at own place, but somehow in other post steam or game trigger a update, and that a offline issue. I'm going to try also unchecking "Compatibility Mode" for Steam after this, if it ends up messing with things I'll try to remember to update this. Then turned on my Windows Firewall and downloaded another game - that worked too. I don't know if that was the only thing that it needed, or if it was a combination of that and "Compatibility Mode." After I logged in and re-downloaded one of my games, I turned the antivirus on and downloaded another to ensure I could, and it worked. However, on limited space, it extracts a bit by bit, delays and slows down. Once I did that, it finally loaded and let me log in. When it comes to unpacking, if you have plenty of space it might use temporary double what it needs to extract, but should go faster. The second thing I did was to disable all of my antivirus protection, Windows Firewall and my personal antivirus software. You right click the file, click Properties, then Compatibility, and make sure that the Compatibility box (I forget exactly what it says) is checked. I did two things and I'm not sure if one or both did it.įirst, I set the Steam exe file to run in Compatibility Mode. I don't know if this is the same problem as you guys, but I just had this problem. ![]()
